We are looking for an innovative and customer-obsessed Design Technologist to join the Amazon Ads Design team in India. Amazon Ads operates at the intersection of eCommerce and advertising, providing advanced digital solutions to enhance customer discovery. As Design leaders, we create one-of-a-kind campaigns and activations for Amazon\'s biggest global advertisers. Using different channels of the Amazon canvas-Fire TV, Prime Video, amazon.com, etc-we create bespoke campaigns that reach millions of Amazon customers through digital and real- world channels.

As a Design Technologist, you\'ll balance technical execution and design strategy by creating innovative landing pages and digital ad solutions. You are equally passionate about design and development. You have strong front-end proficiency, are a creative problem solver at the core and have a keen eye for world class functional design. Working closely with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and Account teams, you\'ll build prototypes and samples that creatively solve challenging business and technology constraints, applying the right technologies, UX patterns, and best practices.

You will have comprehensive understanding of the current state (and future) of web technology with a critical awareness of implications on user-centered design. You understand that some designs have to be experienced in order to be understood and are capable of building rapid prototypes and presenting them to internal and external stakeholders. You feel comfortable reading, writing, and reviewing vanilla JavaScript both on the client and server, as well as building your own libraries.
You are customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, comfortable working with highly technical teams and are skilled in using data and insights to make decisions. You are a leader in the never-ending process of improving your team standards, writing documentation, and able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high-level of autonomy. You can translate business requirements into bar raising customer experiences by thinking from a customer\'s perspective and setting relentlessly high standards for yourself and your team.

\xc2\xb7 Proven ability to simplify complex problems into intuitive and elegant experiences
\xc2\xb7 Ability to deliver functional prototypes on new devices
\xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
\xc2\xb7 Ability to participate in the full lifecycle of design and development - including ideation, prototyping, development, backwards compatibility, fail-overs, validation, and user-testing

Key job responsibilities

• Owning the end-to-end development process and deliverables from a design and technical perspective. Includes prototyping, engineering, and delivering production assets, and interactions for campaigns.
• Providing design and technical leadership by working closely with business teams to develop campaign strategy, use cases, and technical requirements.
• Presenting work to peers, product teams and executive leadership. Capable of taking a technical problem and describing it in UX terms that a non-technical partner (e.g., designers, PMs, etc.) would understand.
• Develop high quality scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Partnering with program and product managers to appropriately identify and assess features for future product offerings.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience with web, mobile web, or mobile app front-end development
- Experience developing visually polished, engaging, and highly fluid UX prototypes with Figma/Sketch.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Understanding and fluent usage across a broad spectrum of technologies including (but not limited to): Vanilla JS, Typescript, NodeJS, React, Redux, SASS/CSS, WebGL and Responsive Web Development.
- Be a Creative Developer: In depth experience with React, React Spring, Framer Motion and complex UI animations, better if experienced with Tensorflow, ThreeJS.
- Understanding of performance, accessibility, and how to mitigate latency issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Have previous experience as UX or Interaction Designer.
- Experience using AWS in production environments
- Familiar with creative ideation and brainstorm sessions with internal and external partners
- Familiarity with Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Alexa, Voice Design, WebGL and creative frontend.
- BS/MS in computer science, technology, design, or equivalent professional experience.
