Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design Development professional to join our product team in the tile industry. The role involves designing and developing new tile collections, keeping up with design trends, working with manufacturing teams, and ensuring that the products meet quality, aesthetic, and market expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Research global design trends in architecture, interiors, fashion, and materials to inform tile design concepts. Conceptualize and create new tile designs (patterns, textures, colors, finishes) using CAD and graphic design software. Develop design prototypes and coordinate with production for sampling and testing. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand market needs and customer preferences. Work closely with R&D and manufacturing to ensure designs are feasible for production, within cost and quality parameters. Maintain and update a design library of raw materials, surface finishes, digital designs, and product references. Conduct competitor analysis and trend forecasting to maintain product relevance. Coordinate with vendors, printers, and equipment operators for accurate execution of designs (especially for digital printing on tiles). Support product launch initiatives with design presentations, catalogs, and sample displays. Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (quality, environmental, technical).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Ceramic Design, Fine Arts, or related field. 2-5 years of experience in a similar role in the tile, ceramics, or building materials industry. Proficiency in design software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, AutoCAD; 3D software knowledge is a plus. Strong understanding of surface design, color theory, and material finishes. Good aesthetic sense with technical knowledge of tile production processes (e.g., digital printing, glazing, pressing). Strong communication, teamwork, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with digital tile printing and ink formulation understanding. Knowledge of different tile types (ceramic, vitrified, porcelain, etc.). Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, marketing, and sales teams. Passion for trends in interior design and architecture.
