Overview: We are seeking an experienced Project and Design Manager to lead automation projects focused on Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and material handling solutions. This role involves managing the full project lifecycle, overseeing both design and project teams, and preparing proposals and quotations to support business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

: Oversee the full lifecycle of automation projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.

Design and Development

: Lead the design team in developing innovative concepts and detailed 2D/3D designs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Oversee the design of mechanical components, electrical control systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA), and material handling systems.

Team Management

: Manage and mentor the design and project teams, ensuring effective collaboration, guidance, and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Proposal and Quotation Preparation

: Prepare detailed proposals and quotations for potential projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

System Integration

: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems seamlessly into larger automation projects, ensuring smooth operation and communication between components.

Prototyping and Testing

: Supervise the prototyping, testing, and validation of designs, making necessary adjustments based on test results and client feedback.

Assembly Supervision

: Oversee assembly processes, ensuring that builds meet quality, safety, and industry standards.

Continuous Improvement

: Identify opportunities for design enhancements, cost savings, and process improvements.

Requirements:

Experience: 8 to 15 years in project management and design in the automation industry, with a focus on SPM and material handling solutions.

Education

: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Skills:

Proficiency in CAD software, experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems, strong project and team management skills, expertise in proposal and quotation preparation, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with major PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus).
