The Design Coordinator will play a central role in ensuring effective coordination and integration of architectural, structural, and MEP designs for modular building projects. The role requires close collaboration with design consultants, production teams, and site execution staff to align drawings with technical specifications, factory capabilities, and on-site requirements. This individual will be responsible for tracking drawing progress, facilitating approvals, resolving design-related queries, and upholding quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design Documentation & Coordination
Review and align architectural, structural, and services drawings for factory execution and site installation
Ensure consistency, technical accuracy, and buildability of drawings in modular context
Establish and maintain drawing trackers capturing submission dates, revisions, approvals, and issue statuses
Circulate updated drawings to all relevant stakeholders and maintain audit-ready documentation
Stakeholder Liaison & Technical Communication
Act as primary contact between consultants, production teams, vendors, and clients for drawing-related issues
Facilitate resolution of technical discrepancies through timely clarification requests (RFIs) and follow-ups
Support multidisciplinary integration of drawings including factory fabrication plans, site fitments, and services coordination
Compliance & Systems Integration
Ensure that designs meet regulatory and statutory norms relevant to prefabricated construction
Assist in compiling and submitting documentation for local authority clearances, factory inspection approvals, and site-specific compliance
Collaborate with digital teams to integrate drawings into ERP, BIM, or digital workflow platforms for planning and execution
Quality & Version Control
Maintain a structured approach to version management across drawings and ensure traceability of changes
Support internal QA/QC teams by facilitating design checks aligned with scope specifications and client requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in design coordination within modular, prefabricated, or conventional construction environments
Strong knowledge of modular construction principles, prefabrication workflows, and design-for-manufacture considerations
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and document control platforms such as BIM 360, Aconex, or SharePoint
Familiarity with regulatory standards and statutory compliance specific to building design and prefabrication
Strong organisational and communication skills with ability to manage multiple consultants and project timelines
Attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and experience working in fast-paced delivery environments

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
