The Design Manager will lead the design team to develop innovative, practical, and cost-effective design solutions that meet client requirements and align with organizational objectives. The role involves overseeing the design process, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery while coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership
Lead, mentor, and manage the design team to deliver high-quality output.
Allocate tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress of design projects.
Ensure adherence to company design standards, guidelines, and industry best practices.
Project Management
Plan and execute design projects from concept to completion.
Coordinate with clients, project managers, production, and marketing teams to understand requirements.
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Innovation & Development
Encourage innovation and creativity within the design team.
Research market trends, competitor products, and new technologies for design improvements.
Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and software.
Collaboration & Communication
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to gather feedback and implement changes.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams for feasibility and accuracy.
Prepare and present design concepts, prototypes, and reports.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Review and approve final designs, drawings, and documentation before release.
Conduct regular quality checks and provide corrective guidance.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Expertise in design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Adobe Suite, etc. depending on industry).
Excellent project management and organizational abilities.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Design/Engineering/Architecture/Industrial Design (as applicable).
7-10 years of experience in design, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
Proven track record of successfully managing design projects and teams.
