We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Design Manager with expertise in mechanical design and fabrication to establish and lead a design team at Rajbharath Foundations Pvt Ltd. As a Design Manager, he will be responsible for overseeing the design and development of fabrication, mechanical systems and components, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of designers and engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful project execution.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, promoting innovation, growth, and continuous improvement.
2. Research and Development (R&D)
- Conduct preliminary R&D and conceptualize initial designs, considering factors such as functionality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) aligned with design requirements, ensuring that all components and materials are properly specified and procured.
3. Design and Approval Process
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop clear design briefs, ensuring that all requirements and expectations are met.
- Secure necessary approvals from clients, CEO, and Site Engineer prior to releasing drawings, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
- Ensure accuracy in all drawings and BOMs before final release, minimizing errors and revisions.
4. Documentation and Maintenance
- Maintain both hard and digital control copies of technical documents, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and accessible.
- Update documentation daily to reflect current project status and changes, ensuring that all stakeholders have access to the latest information.
5. BOM Management
- Adhere to company BOM format, including client name, PO status, and project code, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Detail all raw materials and bought-out components, ensuring that all components are properly specified and procured.
6. Feasibility and Cost Evaluation
- Evaluate technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness of design solutions, considering factors such as performance, cost, and manufacturability.
7. Reporting and Presentations
- Submit weekly progress and process reports, providing stakeholders with regular updates on project status and progress.
- Deliver monthly presentations on new technologies and updates, sharing knowledge and expertise with internal teams and clients.
8. Standards and Compliance
- Stay updated on current engineering standards and best practices, ensuring that designs and processes meet industry requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company protocols and industry regulations and standards.
9. Collaboration and Adaptability
- Engage flexibly with multiple projects across various clients, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
- Foster productive collaboration with clients, internal teams, and leadership, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and fabrication processes
- Excellent communication, coordination, leadership, and project management skills
- Proficiency in CAD, SOLIDWORKS, CATIA software and other design tools.
- Fluency in English, Tamil, & (Hindi is added Advantage).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in fabrication, mechanical industries, and product lines
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical drafting, preferably in a fabrication environment
- Understanding of fabrication industry standards, codes, and regulations, including welding codes, machining and fabrication standards, and material specifications
