Key Responsibilities

1. Creative Direction & Brand Vision

Develop and execute the creative vision for the linen wear collections, ensuring alignment with the brand's aesthetic and strategic objectives. Lead the design team in conceptualizing and creating innovative and trend-setting collections that resonate with the target market. Oversee the entire product development process from concept to production, ensuring high quality and timely delivery of collections.

2. Styling & Visual Merchandising

Define and implement styling guidelines that reflect the brand's identity and appeal to the target audience. Collaborate with visual merchandising teams to create compelling in-store displays and layouts that enhance the customer experience. Ensure consistency in visual presentation across all retail and digital platforms.

3. Trend Research & Market Analysis

Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape, integrating findings into design concepts. Stay updated on industry developments, attending trade shows, fashion events, and networking with industry professionals to stay ahead of trends and innovations.

4. Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster their professional growth and development. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the design team. Manage performance reviews and set clear objectives for team members.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with merchandising, production, and marketing teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of design initiatives. Work with external vendors and suppliers to source materials and ensure quality standards are met. Coordinate with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies that align with the design vision.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in fashion design, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and commercially viable designs, particularly in linen wear for women and children.

Technical Proficiency

Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Proficiency in creating and applying surface designs such as prints, embroideries, and embellishments.

Experience with techniques like printing, screen printing, digital printing, and hand embroidery to enhance fabric aesthetics.

Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and textile selection. Experience in styling and visual merchandising principles.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Location & Work Environment

Position based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Full-time role with expectations for in-person collaboration and occasional travel for market research and events/shoots.

Salary

As per Industry standards depending on years of experience and skills.
