Role overview



The Design Head and Project Manager lead the complete design and project execution process at Deco D Interiors. This person guides the design team, manages vendors and site teams, ensures quality, controls cost and timelines, and supports the Directors with planning and reporting. The role requires strong leadership, sound design knowledge, disciplined execution, and a calm and responsible approach to managing people and projects.

Key Responsibilities Design Leadership and Creative Direction



Lead the design team in preparing layouts, 3D models, mood boards, and material selections.

Guide the creation of 3D presentations and ensure smooth handover to Technical Designers.

Review, refine, and approve all 3D visuals and presentation materials.

Ensure that all materials, colors, and finishes used in visuals match actual product availability.

Maintain proper organization of all design files, renders, and documents.

Support designers with training, creative feedback, and quality guidance.

Client and Internal Team Coordination



Join client calls to explain design concepts, materials, and selections.

Ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and timely updates.

Respond to client messages within ten minutes whenever possible.

Coordinate closely with the Site Supervisor, CSM, Estimator, Technical Designer, QC team, and site teams to maintain alignment at each stage.

Ensure final technical drawings match the approved 3D visuals and design intent.

Share approved visuals, boards, and selections with teams through WhatsApp groups and shared folders.

Provide clear and timely design clarifications to supervisors during execution.

Support Directors in handling key client discussions and escalations.

Vendor Management and Resource Allocation



Identify, onboard, and manage reliable vendors, workshops, and suppliers.

Allocate vendors and workforce based on project timelines and priorities.

Monitor vendor quality, delivery timelines, and production progress.

Resolve issues such as delays, damage, quality problems, or shortages.

Negotiate with vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.

Maintain updated records of vendor agreements and performance.

Quality Control and Site Monitoring



Conduct regular site visits to review quality, workmanship, and progress.

Visit vendor units to inspect material quality and production standards.

Ensure all work matches the final drawings, approved materials, and Deco D standards.

Take corrective action immediately when deviations or quality issues appear.

Maintain a record of quality checks, issues, and rectifications.

Approve materials only after confirming they meet company quality benchmarks.

Site Operations and Project Execution



Oversee the delivery and installation of materials at project sites.

Assign tasks to site supervisors and monitor their progress on a daily basis.

Collect site reports and submit them to the Directors on time.

Coordinate with site supervisors, factory teams, and vendors to ensure smooth execution.

Address issues such as design deviations, measurement mismatches, or damage.

Prioritise urgent tasks and coordinate solutions with Directors and teams.

Ensure projects progress without delay and with minimal rework.

Financial Ownership and Cost Control



Review project budgets, BOQs, and material selections to ensure profitability.

Work with the Estimator and Directors to maintain margin targets.

If the scope changes, get approval from the Directors and ensure client concurrence before proceeding.

Monitor material wastage, rework, and other factors affecting cost.

Share monthly reports on cost status and budget variance with the Directors.

Reporting, Documentation, and Governance



Prepare weekly reports on design status, vendor issues, QC findings, and site progress.

Maintain accurate documentation for vendor agreements, inspections, and site visits.

Ensure proper version control for all drawings and project documents.

Protect all company and client information and maintain confidentiality.

Keep all project files updated and stored correctly in shared drives.

People Leadership, Training, and Growth



Lead performance management and daily coordination for designers and site teams.

Initiate internal calls and team stand ups, act as the host, and ensure the agenda is shared in advance.

Conduct regular training on quality standards, materials, and execution methods.

Build team capability through coaching, guidance, and clear communication.

Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning.

Promote a positive, disciplined, and responsible work culture.

Safety, Risk, and Compliance



Ensure factory and site teams follow safety standards.

Conduct safety checks and report incidents to the Directors.

Review factory equipment condition and ensure timely maintenance.

Oversee handling of damage cases and maintain a record of incidents for improvement.

Forecasting and Analysis

Review upcoming project requirements and prepare weekly and monthly resource forecasts for designers, site teams, and vendors.

Analyze project progress, quality trends, and cost patterns to identify risks or delays early.

Share insights with Directors to support planning, decision making, and continuous improvement

Skills and Qualifications



Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.

Eight to ten years of experience in design, project execution, or production management.

Strong knowledge of interior materials, fittings, modular furniture, and site processes.

Good understanding of 3D design, technical drawings, and production requirements.

Experience managing vendors, factory production, and site teams.

Ability to plan, priorities, and lead multiple projects at the same time.

Good communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.

Strong problem-solving ability and calm handling of pressure situations.

Honest, disciplined, organized, and committed to maintaining quality.
