The Estimator Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects based on technical specifications, drawings, and client requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Evaluate labor, material, and equipment costs to determine total project expenditure.
Prepare and submit Request for Quotations (RFQs) to vendors and subcontractors; compare and analyze received quotations.
Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and quantity surveys.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to align cost estimation with technical and commercial aspects.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
Prepare technical and commercial bid proposals.
Assist in tender evaluations and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Maintain historical cost databases and update unit rate benchmarks.
Monitor project costs and compare actuals against estimated budgets.
Support post-tender activities including clarification meetings, variation orders, and change management.
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical
2-5 years of experience in estimation, preferably in the
Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and local market rates.
Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
