JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for conceptualization, detailed

design, and execution of mechanical systems for rotating and static equipment,

including end-to-end turnkey project solutions. The role involves close coordination

with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and high-performance

equipment within defined timelines and budgets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead mechanical design activities from concept through construction,
installation, commissioning, and startup.

Handle rotating equipment design such as agitators, mixers, gearboxes,
motors, couplings, shafts, bearings, pulleys, and belt drives.

Design and review static equipment including vessels, tanks, supports, frames,
and structural components.

Execute turnkey project engineering, including inter-departmental and inter-
agency coordination.

Develop and manage project plans, design charters, schedules, and

engineering deliverables.

Prepare Basis of Design (BOD) documents, technical specifications, cost
estimates, and engineering budgets.

Perform engineering calculations, economic evaluations, and alternatives
analysis for optimized design solutions.

Select and size motors, gear motors, gearboxes, bearings, and other
mechanical components as per application requirements.

Conduct detailed design calculations for shafts, gears, keys, bearings, pulleys,
belt drives, and related mechanical elements.

Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, safety norms, and
customer specifications.

Review drawings, calculations, and documents prepared by junior engineers and
draftsmen.

Support procurement, manufacturing, quality, and site teams during
fabrication, erection, and commissioning.

Identify technical risks early and provide engineering solutions to prevent cost
or schedule overruns.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Technical Skills

Strong experience in rotating and static equipment design.
Proven exposure to turnkey project execution in process equipment or
industrial machinery.

Proficiency in engineering software and CAD tools (SolidWorks / AutoCAD /
Inventor or equivalent).

Sound knowledge of mechanical design calculations, material selection, and
manufacturing processes.

Experience in preparing technical documentation, BOD reports, and project
estimates.

Understanding of ISO standards, safety regulations, and quality systems.
Soft Skills

Excellent communication and coordination skills for cross-functional
teamwork.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Demonstrated leadership capability to guide engineers and draftsmen.
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and timelines effectively.
Positive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
Experience: Minimum 5-8 years in mechanical design engineering with
rotating equipment, static equipment, and turnkey project exposure.

Experience in process equipment industry will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹195,161.10 - ₹743,500.25 per year
