We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented
Mechanical Design Engineer
to join our engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to work at the intersection of design, innovation, and mobility. The role involves designing structural and mechanical components of electric vehicles, from concept to production, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and durability.
Qualifications & Skills
? B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
? Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials, and structural analysis.
? Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or Fusion 360).
? Knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, and fabrication processes.
? Exposure to tolerance analysis, GD&T, and mechanical simulation tools (a plus).
? Ability to convert concepts into manufacturable, cost-effective solutions.
? Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mechanical Design & Development
? Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for parts, systems, and assemblies using SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or Unigraphics.
? Develop mechanical components like chassis, brackets, battery enclosures, and structural frames.
? Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
? Ensure designs adhere to strength, weight, ergonomics, and cost optimization principles.
2. Prototyping & Validation
? Support prototype development and testing processes with complete technical documentation.
? Perform form, fit, and function tests; implement design changes based on field performance and team feedback.
? Ensure first-time-right execution through accurate design interpretation.
? Identify and resolve design issues during prototyping and initial builds.
3. DFM/DFA & Vendor Coordination
? Optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA).
? Liaise with vendors and suppliers for material selection, manufacturing feasibility, and tolerance requirements.
? Create production drawings and ensure accurate BOMs are released to manufacturing.
