Job Summary:

The Design Engineer is responsible for coordinating design activities, reviewing technical drawings, and managing the procurement process related to design deliverables. This role involves handling design documentation, preparing and reviewing purchase orders (POs), and ensuring technical compliance with project requirements and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate with consultants, architects, and internal teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Review GFC drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for technical accuracy. Prepare material submittals, specifications, and technical datasheets in coordination with vendors and procurement teams. Manage the technical evaluation of materials and suppliers before issuing POs. Support the procurement team in preparing and processing POs for design-related materials and equipment. Verify vendor quotations for technical compliance and cost efficiency. Liaise with the site and procurement teams to ensure design and material approvals are aligned with project schedules. Maintain updated records of drawings, revisions, and approvals. Provide design support during execution, addressing site queries and technical issues. Ensure that all design and procurement documentation adheres to company quality standards and project specifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field. 2-5 years of experience in design coordination and procurement (PO handling) within the construction/infrastructure industry. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and ERP systems. Excellent understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, and specifications. Good communication and coordination skills across departments. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple design and procurement tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Attributes:

Experience in vendor coordination and material technical approvals. Exposure to design review, tender documentation, and estimation processes. Knowledge of design codes, standards, and construction materials.
