We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to handle end-to-end mechanical design activities, lead design teams, ensure compliance with engineering standards, and support manufacturing and project execution. The role demands strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and hands-on design experience.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Prepare and review:
General Arrangement (GA) drawings
Fabrication drawings
Layout drawings and BOMs
Piping and Structure
Carry out design calculations for:
Structural strength
Rotating equipment components
Shafts, supports, flanges, nozzles
Ensure designs are manufacturing-friendly and cost-effective
Engineering Standards & Compliance
Apply relevant Indian & international design standards (IS, ASME, API, TEMA, etc.)
Ensure safety, reliability, and quality compliance in all designs
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with:
Production & fabrication teams
Quality and inspection teams
Procurement and project execution teams
Resolve site and fabrication-related technical issues
Provide engineering support during installation
Leadership & Team Management
Guide and mentor junior engineers
Review calculations and drawings prepared by the team
Establish standard design practices and documentation formats
Mandatory Skill Requirements
Technical Skills
Manufacturing processes
Hands-on experience in mechanical design calculations
Good understanding of fabrication, welding, tolerances, and materials
Software Skills
AutoCAD - Mandatory
3D CAD software (SolidWorks / Naviworks) - Preferred
MS Excel for engineering calculations
Professional Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Excellent drawing interpretation and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Effective communication and coordination skills
