Conceptualize, design, and develop new products and systems using SolidWorks for 3D models and AutoCAD for 2D drawings.
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including general arrangement (GA), fabrication, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical, and product management, to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and meet project goals.
Support and problem-solving:
Provide technical support during prototype fabrication and manufacturing, resolve production issues, and make design modifications based on feedback and testing.
Quality assurance:
Perform quality control checks, ensure designs comply with industry standards, and maintain proper revision control and documentation.
Client interaction:
Prepare technical files for client approvals and participate in design reviews and client meetings as needed.
Qualifications and skills
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is often required.
Software proficiency:
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (including parts, assemblies, and drawings) and AutoCAD is essential.
Technical skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
Soft skills:
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are crucial for collaborating with teams and presenting designs.
Experience:
Experience with areas like die-cast parts, piping systems, or specialized machinery may be required depending on the role.
