Role Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for creating, improving, and optimizing mechanical components and systems. The role involves conceptual design, 3D modeling, detailed drafting, material selection, tolerance analysis, prototyping support, and ensuring manufacturability and quality. The engineer will collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust and cost-effective designs.

Key Responsibilities

Develop

3D models and 2D detailed drawings

using CAD tools (SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD / Inventor). Perform

conceptual design

, feasibility studies, and design calculations. Conduct

tolerance stack-up analysis

, DFMEA, and design validation checks. Prepare

BOMs (Bill of Materials)

and engineering documentation. Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams for

DFM (Design for Manufacturability)

and

design optimization

. Support prototype development, testing, and design improvements. Analyze failures, propose corrective actions, and ensure

continuous improvement

. Ensure designs meet applicable

standards, safety guidelines, and customer specifications

. Participate in cross-functional reviews and present design concepts. Manage multiple projects with respect to timelines, quality, and design revisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

4+ years

of experience in mechanical design or product development. Proficiency in

CAD software

(SolidWorks / Creo / Inventor / AutoCAD). Strong understanding of

GD&T

, engineering drawings, and drafting standards. Hands-on knowledge of

manufacturing processes

(machining, sheet metal, injection molding, casting, composites, etc.). Experience with

CAE tools

(Ansys, HyperMesh) is an added advantage. Strong analytical skills and ability to perform engineering calculations. Knowledge of material properties, industrial standards, and quality requirements. Good communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Experience (Good to Have)

Exposure to

new product development (NPD)

. Experience with

PDM systems

for data management. Knowledge of FEA fundamentals and prototyping. Experience working with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
