Position Overview:

The

Design Engineer

will be responsible for developing 2D and 3D designs and detailed engineering drawings for sheet metal, press tool, and laser-cut components using

SolidWorks

. The role involves collaborating with the production, tooling, and quality teams to ensure manufacturable, cost-effective, and high-quality designs that meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Development

Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings using

SolidWorks

. Design sheet metal parts, press tools, jigs, and fixtures in accordance with manufacturing capabilities. Modify and optimize existing designs for improved functionality, manufacturability, and cost reduction. Generate flat patterns for laser cutting and bending operations.

2. Technical Documentation

Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), part lists, and technical specifications. Maintain design revision history, drawing control, and file management. Provide detailed documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.

3. Collaboration & Coordination

Work closely with the production, quality, and purchase departments to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness. Support production teams with design clarifications and technical assistance during fabrication. Communicate with clients for design reviews, modifications, and approvals when required.

4. Quality & Standards Compliance

Ensure designs comply with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality procedures. Conduct design validation and tolerance analysis to ensure dimensional accuracy.
