(JD) - Design Engineer - Steel and Metal Furniture

Key Responsibilities

:

Design and develop innovative steel furniture products such as tables, chairs, shelves, and storage units. Prepare

3D CAD models

and

2D drawings

using software like

AutoCAD, SolidWorks.

Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are practical and feasible for production. Perform structural analysis of steel furniture to ensure durability and stability. Select materials and finishes based on aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations. Conduct research on trends in furniture design and material innovation. Develop prototypes for testing and modify designs based on feedback. Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing materials and components. Ensure designs meet safety standards, environmental regulations, and company specifications. Assist in developing cost estimates for production, assembly, and materials. Work with the marketing team to understand customer needs and incorporate feedback into designs. Prepare technical documentation and design presentations for stakeholders.

Job Specification (JS) -

Skills & Qualifications

:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.

Essential

: at least 3 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the steel furniture industry Proficiency in

CAD software

such as

AutoCAD, SolidWorks

, or similar. Strong knowledge of material properties, particularly steel and other metals. Understanding of manufacturing processes for steel furniture (welding, cutting, bending, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously. A strong portfolio of previous design work is a plus.

Job Location:

Work from Home with periodic visits to the office or manufacturing facility based on business requirements
