Role Description:

The Design Engineer will be responsible for preparing and maintaining 2D and 3D designs, supporting manufacturing drawings, and assisting production with accurate design documentation and nesting calculations.

Responsibilities :

Create, modify, and maintain 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks. Prepare fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing drawings. Perform nesting calculations to optimize material usage and minimize wastage. Generate BOMs and support engineering documentation. Coordinate with production for design clarifications and revisions. Update designs based on manufacturing feedback, site inputs, and trials. Maintain drawing version control and design records. Support prototype development, testing, and trial builds. Assist in cost estimation through accurate material and nesting data. Engage with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and electrical teams for design feasibility and value engineering. Support assembly line troubleshooting and resolve design-related issues. Ensure all designs comply with ISO, CE, RoHS, BIS, and customer-specific standards. Support design certification audits, testing, and compliance documentation. Propose material substitutions, part integrations, and modular design improvements. Drive continuous improvement in design cycles, manufacturability, and component life-cycle costs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education

: BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering

Experience

: Minimum 3 years in mechanical or product design, R&D, or related engineering roles. Experience in sheet metal fabrication and nesting calculations.

CAD Skills

: Proficient in 2D/3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD

Technical Knowledge

: Mechanical assemblies, GD&T, BOM creation, prototyping, and design validation

Communication

: Good communication skills for cross-functional coordination

Compliance Awareness

: Knowledge of ISO, CE, RoHS, BIS, or customer-specific standards

Physical Requirements

: Ability to attend field visits and support prototyping or testing when required

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
