We are looking for a creative and technically skilled
Design Engineer
to lead the development of premium Recreational Vehicle (RV) and camper van layouts. This role bridges the gap between conceptual design and physical manufacturing. You will be responsible for creating ergonomic van interiors, producing photorealistic renderings for clients, and generating the technical CAM data required to drive our CNC machinery.
The ideal candidate understands that an RV is a complex system where aesthetics, structural integrity, and manufacturing efficiency must coexist.
Key Responsibilities
1. Layout Design & Space Optimization
Design complete interior layouts for van platforms (e.g., Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster), maximizing storage, ergonomics, and livability.
Develop cabinetry, bed systems, galleys, and utility enclosures that account for vehicle curvature and vibration.
Collaborate with the build team to ensure designs accommodate electrical wiring, plumbing, and insulation layers.
2. CAD/CAM & CNC Manufacturing
Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using
SolidWorks & Swood
.
Generate toolpaths and G-code for CNC routers; optimize nesting to minimize material waste (plywood, MDF, Bamboo).
Troubleshoot machining issues and refine designs for "Design for Manufacturing" (DFM) principles to streamline assembly.
3. Reverse Engineering
Perform reverse engineering on vehicle chassis, interior shells & equipment using 3D scanning data or manual measurements to create accurate digital twins of the vehicle interior.
4. Rendering & Visualization
Produce high-quality, photorealistic renderings using tools like
Solidworks Visualize or Blender
to visualize materials, lighting, and textures for client approval and marketing material.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience:
1+ years of experience in product design, furniture design, or automotive upfitting.
CAD Mastery:
Proficiency in parametric modeling (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
CAM/CNC Knowledge:
Experience generating toolpaths (2D milling) and a strong understanding of CNC router operations (speeds, feeds, tooling).
Reverse Engineering:
Experience working with mesh data (STL/OBJ) or 3D scanners is highly desirable.
Preferred:
Hands-on experience with woodworking, carpentry, or metal fabrication.
Knowledge of 12V electrical systems and mobile plumbing standards.
Benefits:
Permanent Remote Job
Internet Reimbursement
Remote Infrastructure Requirements:
High-Performance Workstation:
Candidates must possess a personal computer or laptop capable of handling intensive CAD/CAM software and photorealistic rendering without lag.
Reliable Connectivity:
A stable, high-speed internet connection is mandatory to ensure seamless video conferencing and the transfer of large design files and 3D assets.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
Benefits:
Flexible schedule
Internet reimbursement
Work from home
