Design Engineer
to join our growing R&D and engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop thermoformed packaging and plastic components based on client requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software
Work closely with production, tooling, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
Conduct material selection and design optimization to enhance performance and cost efficiency.
Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation.
Support new product introduction (NPI) from concept through to production handover.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide technical input during customer presentations and proposals.
Maintain accurate documentation of all design revisions and BOMs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
2-5 years of experience in product design, preferably in
thermoforming, plastics, or packaging industries
.
Proficiency in 3D CAD tools is must
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes -- especially
vacuum forming, pressure forming, and tool design
.
Good knowledge of polymer materials and design for manufacturability principles.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
Experience in
automotive packaging design
or
industrial trays
.
Familiarity with CNC machining or mold design.
Exposure to simulation or FEA software.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or DFMEA practices.
