The Design Engineer (HVAC & Solar) will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems as well as Solar Power Systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, cost optimization, and compliance with industry standards to deliver efficient, sustainable, and reliable solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesHVAC Design Responsibilities
Perform
heat load calculations
and design HVAC systems accordingly.
Prepare
ducting and piping layouts
using AutoCAD/Revit.
Select appropriate
chillers, VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and ventilation equipment
.
Prepare
BOQ (Bill of Quantity)
and cost estimates.
Ensure HVAC design compliance with
ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC, and relevant codes
.
Coordinate with architects, civil, electrical, and project teams.
Provide
technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning
.
Solar Design Responsibilities
Conduct
site surveys
and prepare feasibility studies.
Design
grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid solar PV systems
.
Perform
shadow analysis and system sizing
using tools like PVsyst/Helioscope/SolarEdge.
Prepare
single-line diagrams (SLD)
and panel layouts.
Select suitable
modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and protection devices
.
Prepare
project costing, BOQ, and technical specifications
.
Ensure compliance with
MNRE, IEC, IS standards, and DISCOM guidelines
.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of
HVAC design & load calculation software
(HAP, Carrier E20, etc.).
Proficiency in
AutoCAD, Revit, PVsyst, Helioscope, MS Excel
.
Knowledge of
electrical basics
for solar system integration.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost-optimization skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication & coordination skills with stakeholders.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in
Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
.
2-5 years of experience in
HVAC & Solar design
(Freshers with internship/project exposure can also be considered).
Certification in
Solar Design / HVAC Design
will be an added advantage.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI/KRA)
Accuracy of load calculations and design outputs.
Compliance with project deadlines and budgets.
Quality of BOQ and technical documentation.
Customer satisfaction and minimal design revisions.
Energy efficiency & cost-effectiveness of designed systems.
