A Piping Design Engineer in the water treatment industry is responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of piping systems within water and wastewater treatment plants. This role combines technical expertise with project management and collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines to deliver designs that meet regulatory and operational requirements.?

Core Responsibilities

Design and develop piping layouts and systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, considering process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment layouts.? Conduct stress analysis and feasibility studies on piping systems to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.? Specify materials, pipe sizes, valves, and supports based on system requirements and standards (ASME, API, local codes).? Prepare 2D and 3D models, isometric drawings, and bill of materials using design software like AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, or similar tools.? Collaborate with process, mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to optimize routing, resolve clashes, and ensure integration with other plant systems.? Perform site walkdowns, field verifications, and oversee installation and commissioning activities as required.? Prepare technical documentation, design reports, cost estimates, and support procurement and construction teams.? Analyze, interpret, and apply codes, standards, and owner specifications for conventional and unconventional piping systems.? Troubleshoot existing piping systems and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.?

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.?
Key Skills

CAD Software (AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS) Stress Analysis and Feasibility Studies Knowledge of Water/Wastewater Processes Project Management and Technical Documentation Understanding of Codes and Safety Regulations 2-5+ years of experience in piping design, preferably for water treatment, petrochemical, or related process industries.? Proficiency in CAD and piping design tools, and strong knowledge of piping standards (ASME, API, etc.).? Good communication and collaboration skills for interfacing with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.?

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
