Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Development

Prepare conceptual and detailed designs for hot tapping fittings, line stopple fittings, and associated piping components. Develop new designs and modify existing ones based on operational, maintenance, or project requirements. Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, IBR, etc.). Perform strength, pressure, and stress calculations to validate design integrity. Select appropriate materials based on design requirements, operating conditions, and client specifications.
2. Cross-Department Coordination

Collaborate with the production team to provide fabrication drawings, cutting templates, and manufacturing details. Support project, planning, and estimation teams with conceptual layouts, preliminary designs, and cost estimates for proposals/tenders. Provide on-floor technical support during fabrication and assembly. Coordinate with maintenance teams to understand operational challenges and develop design improvements.
3. Drawing & Documentation

Create and maintain 2D/3D CAD models

using AutoCAD, Inventor

,

SolidWorks

, or similar tools. Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and ensure correct specifications are shared with procurement. Maintain organized records of design data, drawings, calculations, and revision histories.
4. Continuous Improvement & R&D

Research new materials, design methodologies, and fabrication techniques to enhance product performance. Benchmark designs against industry best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.
5. Fabrication & Inspection Support

Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and inspection stages. Troubleshoot design-related issues during manufacturing or at project sites. Participate in design reviews with internal teams, clients, and third-party inspection agencies (TPIA). Attend site visits for measurements, fit-up checks, and installation supervision.
6. Compliance & Quality

Ensure all designs meet relevant safety, quality, and performance standards. Adhere to company design procedures, document-control systems, and quality management protocols.
7. Additional Responsibilities

Conduct research and benchmarking for design improvements. Stay updated on industry standards, tools, and technologies. Contribute to standardizing templates, procedures, and design guidelines. Perform additional engineering tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

3-7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in piping components, pressure vessels, or the hot tapping industry.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
