Our company is a leading innovator in the Indian aerospace and defense sector, specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of critical fluid control systems and components. We are committed to supporting India's national space and defense missions with cutting-edge technology and robust engineering solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the next generation of aerospace projects.
Role and Responsibilities
The Design Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of high-pressure valves and associated components used in aerospace and defense applications, including launch vehicles, satellites, and aircraft. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical design, fluid dynamics, and material science, with a proven track record of successful product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform conceptual and detailed design of high-pressure fluid control valves (e.g., solenoid valves, check valves, pressure relief valves) for various aerospace systems.
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings using industry-standard CAD software, ensuring compliance with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
Conduct structural analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), to validate designs against stringent load and environmental requirements.
Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize valve performance, flow characteristics, and pressure drop.
Select appropriate materials for components, considering factors such as pressure, temperature, fluid compatibility (e.g., cryogenic, hydraulic, pneumatic), and manufacturability.
Collaborate with the manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure designs are producible, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
Provide technical support during the prototyping, assembly, and testing phases, troubleshooting any design-related issues.
Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, analysis reports, test plans, and manufacturing specifications.
Ensure all designs adhere to national and international aerospace quality standards, such as AS9100.
Contribute to design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related Engineering field.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the design and analysis of high-pressure mechanical or fluidic components, preferably within the aerospace, defense, or high-technology sectors.
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated expertise in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX).
Experience in the following areas:
Solid Modelling
Surface Modelling
3D Assembly
Interference Checking
Machine motion simulations
2D Detailing
Proficiency in FEA and CFD software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, Nastran) which includes but not limited to the following.
Model preparation for FEA
Meshing / Quality check
Liner static analysis
CFD Analysis - Ga/ Liquids
Vibration / Resonance studies
Electro Magnetic simulations
Strong foundational knowledge of fluid dynamics, statics, dynamics, and mechanical design principles.
Proven experience in material selection for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance for aerospace components.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and model-based design (MBD).
Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, or testing of fluidic components.
Previous experience working with or for major Indian aerospace organizations like ISRO, DRDO, or HAL.
Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes for metal components.
