Job Summary

The

Design Engineer (Cleanroom & Lab Furniture)

is responsible for designing, detailing, and supporting execution of cleanroom interiors and laboratory furniture systems. The role focuses on layout planning, shop drawings, and BOQs for cleanroom partitions, ceilings, doors, windows, and lab furniture--excluding HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities1. Design & Detailing

Prepare cleanroom layout drawings, GA drawings, sections, and detailed shop drawings. Design and detail

cleanroom partitions, ceilings, doors, windows, view panels, covings

, and finishes. Design

laboratory furniture

including work benches, tables, cabinets, sinks, storage units, fume hood furniture (structure only), and accessories.

2. Technical Documentation

Prepare

BOQs, material take-offs

, and fabrication drawings. Develop technical submittals as per client and project requirements. Ensure designs meet functional, ergonomic, and aesthetic requirements.

3. Standards & Compliance

Design as per

ISO 14644, GMP

, and cleanroom guidelines (non-HVAC scope). Ensure material selection complies with cleanroom and lab usage norms.

4. Coordination & Execution Support

Coordinate with

Project, Production, Purchase, and Site teams

for design clarifications. Resolve site queries and issue revised drawings where required. Attend coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and vendors.

5. Drawing Control

Maintain drawing registers and revision history. Ensure timely issue of approved drawings to site and fabrication teams.

Qualifications & ExperienceEducation

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in

Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or Interior Engineering

Experience

2-4 years

experience in

cleanroom interiors and/or laboratory furniture design

Experience in pharma, biotech, R&D labs, hospitals, or electronics facilities preferred

Skills & Competencies

Strong proficiency in

AutoCAD

(mandatory) Knowledge of cleanroom panels and lab furniture systems Understanding of fabrication and installation processes Good coordination and communication skills Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines

Software Skills

AutoCAD MS Excel Revit / SketchUp (optional, added advantage)

Key Deliverables

Approved cleanroom & lab furniture drawings Accurate BOQs and material take-offs Fabrication-ready shop drawings Minimal site rework due to design errors
