Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer specializing in casting design to lead the development of high-quality cast components. The role involves conceptualizing, designing, and validating casting parts while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of casting components (ferrous and non-ferrous).

- Create and review 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo.

- Perform design calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and material selection specific to casting applications.

- Collaborate with foundries, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to optimize casting processes.

- Conduct feasibility studies, design reviews, and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).

- Ensure designs meet performance, durability, and safety requirements.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

- Support prototype development, testing, and validation of casting parts.

- Drive cost reduction initiatives through design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and value engineering.

- Maintain compliance with industry standards (ASME, ISO, ASTM) and customer specifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)

- 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 3 years focused on casting design.

- Strong knowledge of casting processes (sand casting, die casting, investment casting, gravity casting).

- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo).

- Familiarity with simulation tools for casting flow and solidification (MAGMASOFT, ProCAST).

- Good understanding of GD&T, material science, and heat treatment processes.

- Experience with PLM systems and engineering documentation

Pay: ₹25,449.15 - ₹38,637.90 per month
