Job Title: Design Engineer - Class A Surface (Alias)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Class A Surface Design Engineer (Alias) to support our styling and product development programs. The role involves developing high-quality, aesthetically accurate, and production feasible Class A surfaces for vehicle and product components using Autodesk Alias. You will work closely with design, engineering, and tooling teams to convert concepts into premium, manufacturable surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

1. Class A Surface Modeling (Alias) Create high-quality Class A surfaces in Autodesk Alias. Translate sketches, clay data, and conceptual inputs into refined digital surfaces. Maintain surface quality with correct highlights, curvature continuity, and G2/G3 standards.
2. Collaboration With Design & Engineering Teams Work with stylists to ensure the design intent is accurately captured. Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability. Support reviews and iterate designs based on feedback.
3. Model Refinement & Feasibility Checks Perform highlight analysis, curvature checks, and surface refinement for Class A output. Conduct feasibility checks considering material, tooling, and engineering constraints. Ensure surfaces meet OEM/industry Class A criteria.
4. Data Management & Project Support Maintain version-controlled Alias models with proper documentation. Prepare design review data, visualizations, and surface reports. Collaborate with CAD, CAE, Tooling, and Product teams throughout development cycles.

Required Skills & Qualifications

B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial Design, or related fields.
2-3 years' experience in Class A surfacing using Autodesk Alias.
Strong understanding of surface modeling principles, curvature, and highlights.
Experience in exterior/interior plastic components, trims, and styling surfaces.
Knowledge of manufacturing constraints (plastics, sheet metal, tooling).
Familiarity with visualization tools like VRED, KeyShot, or Blender is a plus.
Preferred Experience Automotive 2 wheeler or EV styling experience highly preferred. Exposure to Class A standards and OEM development process.
Basic understanding of CAD tools like Catia/UG NX for engineering references.
