Overview

We are seeking an experienced

Design Engineer

to design and engineer

bespoke helical staircases

constructed from

steel structures with glass balustrades and timber steps

.

The role requires a high level of precision, strong spatial understanding, and the ability to work directly from

laser scan point cloud data

(Leica or similar) to ensure perfect alignment with real site conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop

custom helical staircases

with full dimensional accuracy Create

high-quality 3D models

based on laser scan point cloud data Translate point cloud data into

fit-to-site designs

Produce

detailed fabrication drawings

, shop drawings, and assembly instructions Prepare

complete material specifications

, including steel, glass, timber, fixings, and finishes Coordinate with

fabrication and installation teams

to finalize technical details and resolve site-specific constraints

Requirements

Strong proficiency in

SolidWorks, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD

, or similar CAD software Proven experience in

staircase design

or complex

steel / glass / timber structures

Confident ability to interpret and model directly from

laser scan point cloud data

Solid understanding of

structural principles

and construction detailing Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Ability to provide

photos of completed projects

- 3D models

- Technical drawings

- Material specifications
