Description Key Accountabilities: o Create solid models, drawings in SolidWorks and ECN'S. Support the development of product validation packages. o Under the guidance of engineers, support the design & development of mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, and other Rexnord Aerospace products with a basic understanding of design tools and methods and analysis methods. o Should be good at load calculations in mechanical systems. o The candidate should be resourceful in the absence of missing data and seek/look for ways to get them. Should have experience in arriving at design data through hand calculations. o Create and maintain product definition packages, solid models, drawings and ECN'S. o Participate in Lean initiatives. o Creates and maintains BOM's and product databases & records. o Assists in solving basic problems with an aptitude for problem-solving skills. Qualifications Job requirements, Capabilities, and Success factors: o Requires BE/ B. Tech in mechanical engineering from reputed engineering colleges with min 70% (7 CGPA) marks. o 2 - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Previous experience designing mechanical components is preferred. o Knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, and/or CATIA is preferred. Hands-on experience in SolidWorks is a plus. o Ability to create and interpret drawings and specifications. o Knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5-2009 Std) and tolerance stack-up analysis. o Understanding of design calculations and ability to give attention to details. o Knowledge of metals and composites. A materials background is a plus. o Exposure to machining process, heat treating, and/or grinding is a plus. o High level of interpersonal skills. o Proficient in Microsoft Word and advanced MS Excel skills. o Excellent English communication and presentation skills. o Capable of working within a team structure. o Experience with Design of Experiments is preferred. o Detail-oriented and self-motivated. o Experience in delivering good quality output on time.
