Job Description

A Drafting and Design Engineer in construction creates detailed technical drawings (blueprints, plans, models) using CAD software like AutoCAD/Revit, translating architectural/engineering concepts into buildable plans for site teams, ensuring compliance with codes, and coordinating with architects and project managers to manage design revisions and project accuracy from concept to execution.

Drawing Creation:

Develop 2D/3D plans, layouts, elevations, and detailed construction documents.

Software Proficiency:

Use CAD/CADD (AutoCAD, Revit) to produce precise drawings and models.

Technical Translation:

Bridge design theory and practical application, turning concepts into workable plans.

Coordination:

Liaise with architects, structural consultants, site engineers, and project managers.

Revision Management:

Update drawings based on design changes or site conditions.

Quality & Compliance:

Ensure all drawings meet quality standards and building codes.

Material Calculation:

Calculate dimensions, material requirements, and limitations.
