Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented

Design Controller

to manage the coordination, control, and flow of design information across commercial interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will act as the central point of communication between the design, project, and site teams, ensuring all design documentation is up to date, version-controlled, and aligned with project timelines and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate all design-related documentation for commercial fit-out projects from concept through construction. Manage document control systems, ensuring version control, timely distribution, and secure storage of design files (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, PDFs). Liaise with internal teams (design, project management, site) and external consultants (architects, MEP engineers, clients) to ensure timely submissions and feedback. Track and manage drawing submittals, RFIs, comments, and approvals across all stakeholders. Maintain and regularly update design registers, drawing logs, submittal schedules, and change tracking documents. Ensure that design deliverables comply with building codes, regulations, and project specifications. Assist in resolving design-related issues on-site in coordination with the site team. Support the implementation of design control standards and best practices across projects. Participate in design coordination meetings and provide accurate reporting on document status and design progress. Ensure alignment of all design elements with construction feasibility, cost considerations, and client expectations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in a design coordination or design control role, preferably in commercial interior fit-out projects. Proficient in document control systems and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Aconex or similar platforms). Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple design packages simultaneously. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
