product design

application engineering
, including engineering calculations, reverse engineering, enclosure design, sheet metal design, customer requirement analysis, and project execution. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, handling multiple projects, and delivering high-quality engineering outputs.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Engineering
Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using
Creo/CATIA
.
Design sheet metal components, castings, enclosures, louvers, and industrial parts.
Apply
GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
to engineering drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
Perform engineering calculations for:
Ventilation & airflow
Noise suppression (75-85 dBA enclosures)
Lifting points
Exhaust back pressure
Fuel systems & radiator (JW & SCAC) piping
Develop surface models through
reverse engineering
from 2D images or samples.
Application Engineering
Understand customer technical requirements and provide suitable design/application solutions.
Support product customization, feasibility analysis, and performance assessments.
Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback to optimize product performance.
Assist in
root-cause analysis
for performance-related issues and provide corrective solutions.
Participate in
Product Cost Management (PCM)
by modifying models for cost efficiency.
Project Coordination & Delivery
Coordinate with suppliers, internal teams, and customer engineering groups.
Manage multiple design/application projects and ensure timely delivery.
Maintain engineering data using
Teamcenter PLM
and visualization mockup tools.
Prepare reports, documentation, and technical presentations as required.
Skills & Requirements
Minimum
4+ years
experience as a Design Engineer / Application Engineer.
Proficiency in
Creo
,
CATIA
,
AutoCAD
, MS Office.
Strong knowledge of
Sheet Metal Design, Casting Design, Enclosure Design
, and modeling.
Experience with
reverse engineering
, GD&T, and engineering calculations.
Good understanding of automotive/industrial components and heavy machinery designs.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects effectively.
Preferred Educational Background
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in automotive, heavy machinery, industrial equipment, or engineering services preferred.
