Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced

Design & Application Engineer

to join our Global Proposal Engineering team. The role involves

design, customization, and integration

of diesel generator sets for

large-scale data center backup power systems

, covering the full project cycle--from technical proposals to execution documentation. The engineer will ensure compliance with

Tier III/Tier IV uptime standards

, regulatory frameworks, and client specifications across global projects.

Key Responsibilities1. Design & Engineering

Select and configure diesel engines, alternators, control panels, and switchgear as per project requirements. Design cooling, ventilation, exhaust, fuel, acoustic, and electrical systems with focus on reliability and sustainability. Perform

noise, ventilation, and structural calculations

. Develop detailed

2D/3D CAD product designs, installation layouts, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics

. Evaluate site-specific conditions (climate, altitude, seismic zones, space constraints) for optimal genset applications. Implement solutions for

noise, vibration, and emission control

in line with local and international standards. Knowledge of

electro-mechanical protection systems

for genset installations.

2. Tender & Documentation

Review tender specifications and prepare

compliant technical submissions

. Develop

Bill of Quantities (BoQ)

for genset supply, accessories, control systems, and installation materials. Ensure technical proposals align with client requirements and global standards. Provide technical clarifications and support during bid/tender evaluations.

Key Skills & Competencies

Expertise in

BoQ preparation and tender documentation

. Strong knowledge of

diesel engine performance, alternators, and control systems

. Proficiency in

AutoCAD / Creo (or equivalent)

for mechanical and electrical design. Familiarity with

Data Center MEP systems, redundancy topologies, and UPS integration

. Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Thorough understanding of

international genset standards

and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering.

5-10 years

of proven experience in diesel genset design/application engineering.
