Job Description

Ensuring that tablets are properly coated for stability, taste masking, appearance, and controlled drug release.

• Operate, monitor, and control automatic or semi-automatic tablet coating machines (e.g., perforated pan coaters like Ganscoater, Accela Cota, etc.).
• Set parameters such as inlet/outlet temperature, spray rate, pan speed, etc.
• Perform batch start-up, in-process checks, and shutdown activities.
• Ensure availability of coating materials (polymer, pigments, plasticizers, solvents).
• Prepare coating solution/suspension as per SOP and Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR).
• Ensure proper sieving, mixing, and stirring of coating suspensions.
• Record all activities in Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), logbooks, and checklists.
• Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Carry out Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) or manual cleaning of equipment.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and status labeled as per SOP (Cleaned, In Process, To Be Cleaned).
• Report breakdowns or maintenance needs.
• Perform in-process quality checks like weight gain, tablet appearance, moisture content, etc.
• Ensure product is within specifications and report deviations to supervisors or QA.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety.
