+ To conduct all related tasks together with the Team Leader i.e. Lead the detailed design task team. Ensure all deliverables are prepared in accordance with quality and time constraints.

+ Administrate and supervise site investigation and design and documentation activities for civil and facility / Equipment Installation works contracts.

+ Identify appropriate design codes and standards in collaboration with IRC.

+ Assess road & bridge sections for detailed engineering, including geometric features, pavement, intersecting roads, its development plan interface with the main road to a certain extent as agreed upon. Review available data relating to traffic, axle loads and pavement strength.

+ Review the need for road safety measures based on the findings of the feasibility study and road safety review of the road environment. Identify, design and cost road accident mitigation measures based on this review.

+ Develop the specifications for road construction in collaboration with the NHIDCL.

+ Assist NHIDCL to prepare construction schedules showing anticipated progress of works by contract package. The schedules should reflect seasonal climatic effects at the work sites.

+ Based on the findings of the approved EIA, the road & bridge designs should incorporate the EMP to mitigate adverse environmental impacts including those encountered during construction.

+ Ensure that deliverables comply with relevant GOI technical requirements, Bank conditions and the terms of the assumptions in the cost benefit analysis.

+ Prepare monthly progress reports and quarterly progress reports in a form agreed with the NHIDCL and JICA (in PSR), and submit the reports within 10 days before the end of the month or quarter to which they refer.

+ Prepare a final report, which will be a compilation and condensation of the data presented in regular monthly progress reports, together with copies of as-built drawings within two months from the issuance of the defects liability certificate.

+ 2. To manage and supervise all tasks for National / International experts.

Minimum Qualification

+ Graduate and Post Graduate in Civil Engineering

Experience

+ Aggregate minimum 15 years of professional experience in minimum 3 countries (which may include their home country) with minimum two years in foreign country (other than home country).

+ Minimum 5 years? Experience of construction supervision of Highway Bridge projects in similar capacity

+ Minimum 2 Bridge Projects either Cable stayed or Cable suspension or Extradosed or pre-stressed bridge of 2/4/6 lane for highway/expressway/rail cum road bridge on Design, Engineering, Procurement, Supply And Construction basis

+ Experience in at least 2 Bridge Projects either Cable stayed or Cable suspension or Extradosed or pre-stressed bridge of 2/4/6 lane for highway/expressway/rail cum road bridge with minimum bridge length of 500 meters having span not less than 125 meters each

+ Experience in Construction of Bridge projects in similar capacity

  • for either Cable stayed or Cable suspension or Extradosed or pre-stressed bridge of 2/4/6 lane for highway/expressway/rail cum road bridge over Sea/ Creek/ Perennial River/ Estuary with minimum One span not less than 125 meters
+ Experience in Operation & Maintenance of Major Bridge projects in similar capacity

+ Project funded by Multilateral/ Bilateral Funding Agency(ies) where value of ICB Contract is more than Rs. 1,750 Cr
