supports the Nursing Superintendent in overseeing the overall nursing operations across all Signature Aged Care units. This role ensures the highest standards of clinical care, resident safety, and regulatory compliance while supervising the nursing team and maintaining a culture of compassion, professionalism, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical and Administrative Oversight
Assist the Nursing Superintendent in planning, organizing, and supervising all nursing activities across units.
Ensure implementation of nursing policies, care standards, and infection control protocols.
Monitor and maintain the quality of care provided to residents in accordance with Signature Aged Care's philosophy of graceful ageing with dignity*. Participate in the formulation and review of nursing care plans for residents with complex needs.
Supervise medication administration, documentation, and adherence to clinical guidelines.
Staff Supervision and Training
Supervise staff nurses, caregivers, and nursing assistants; ensure adequate staffing across shifts.
Conduct regular orientation and in-service training programs to upgrade clinical skills and knowledge.
Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback, mentoring, and support for professional growth.
Ensure discipline, teamwork, and a positive work environment within the nursing department.
Quality and Compliance
Ensure compliance with statutory and accreditation standards in clinical care, record keeping, and documentation.
Participate in internal audits, quality improvement activities, and resident care reviews.
Oversee adherence to infection prevention, biomedical waste management, and emergency protocols.
Maintain updated nursing records, incident reports, and resident care documentation.
Resident and Family Coordination
Act as a liaison between residents, families, and the care team to ensure satisfaction and effective communication.
Handle resident complaints and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Support the admission, transfer, and discharge processes in coordination with the administrative team.
Operational Support
Assist in duty scheduling, leave planning, and roster management.
Support procurement and inventory management of nursing supplies and equipment.
Step in for the Nursing Superintendent during absence and represent the department in meetings as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
GNM / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Minimum
7-10 years of clinical experience
, including at least
3 years in a supervisory or senior nursing role
(preferably in geriatric, palliative, or hospital settings).
Valid nursing registration with the State Nursing Council.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Sound knowledge of geriatric and palliative nursing practices.
