BACKGROUND

The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.

Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

1. JOB PURPOSE

As a member of the THF Programme team, this position will play a vital role in evaluating, supervising and executing THF self-implemented programmes. He/ she will be responsible for regular monitoring, periodic reviews and coordinating programmes. He/ she will ensure proper and timely utilization of funds and programme adherence by the project team, and assist the Regional Senior Manager and Director- Programs & Evaluation towards achieving the overall goal of the Foundation.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

A.

Project Design and Reviews:

Undertake reviews of proposals submitted by the partners for funding against the designed assessment framework of The Hans Foundation. Play a key role in carrying our due diligence of potential partner in the process of selection. Carry out field visits to assess the progress of the progress against the planned deliverables drafted in the action plan

B.

Reporting

Collect and present information/reports for projects. Carry out review of partners' reports and conduct analysis in terms of accomplishments of deliverables, quality of reporting, utilization of budget and the overall timelines. Follows up on performance indicators/success criteria, targets and milestones and prepares this information into a presentable format for the program team.

C.

Project Development:

As a part of program team, extend support in development of project design ideas, thematic papers and concepts on different technical interventions of The Hans Foundation. Extend support to partners for programmatic implementation of THF processes and guidelines.

D.

Finance and Budgeting

Ensure that program funds are utilized in accordance with approved activities and standard financial procedures by reviewing the Financial Utilisation Reports. Work with the Finance Team for timely review of funds. Coordinate with the Finance and Administration team, to ensure effective implementation, proper financial management and project reviews.

E.

Organisational Development Support

Provide technical support to partners for improvement of management systems and processes as required.

F.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Monitor projects to ensure that deliverables are achieved with quality and within budget and timelines. Review partner progress reports, analyze contents and provide feedback and action plans. Embark upon field visits to monitor projects, visit partners and accompany visitors/ delegations to highlight THF Projects.

G.

Learning Dissemination and Communication:

Write case studies, Quarterly and Annual Reports and any other publication as need arises. Participate and prepare for THF events such as meetings, retreats and team building activities; planning the preparation and facilitation and then reporting on outcomes. Ensures visibility of the projects by collecting information and resources for stories displayed on THF website and other media mediums.

H.

Others

Assist the management in preparing Annual Program Plans and Budgets. Provide dynamic and proactive administrative support to the Director - Programs and Evaluation and Senior Project Managers. Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Management Team.

3. Other Indicative Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any field is required. Masters or any degrees relevant to the field will be preferred.

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

Intensive Work experience of at least 6-7 years in the social development sector. Excellent written communication skills. Proficiency in G-Suite/MS Office (G-drive, Google Forms, PowerPoint, Word, some Excel as an asset Applicant should be willing to travel to the field.
