Job Title: Deputy Manager - Production

Department: Production

Reports to: Head of Production

Location: Kharagpur


Job Summary:

We're looking for a seasoned production professional to lead our pail and bucket manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in production management, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Production Planning: Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand, ensuring on-time delivery and minimizing inventory levels.

2. Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet quality standards, implementing quality control measures and conducting regular inspections.

3. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

4. Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of production staff, providing training and guidance as needed.

5. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, minimizing waste and excess inventory.

6. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all production activities are carried out in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies.

7. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales, procurement, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise.


Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, production management) Minimum 7 years of experience in production management, preferably in the pail and bucket industry Proven track record of improving production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Skills:


Experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S) Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) Familiarity with production planning and inventory management software (e.g., ERP, MRP) Certification in production management or a related field is a plus
