To oversee and ensure effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of foundry equipment and facilities, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, productivity, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
Supervise day-to-day maintenance activities in core areas like melting, molding, shot blasting, sand plant, and fettling.
Coordinate timely resolution of breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Team Management:
Lead a team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Assign tasks, review work progress, and provide technical guidance.
Conduct training and skill development sessions for maintenance staff.
Asset Management & Equipment Reliability:
Monitor equipment performance and lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures.
Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts usage.
Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with purchase/logistics to maintain critical stock levels.
Cost Control & Efficiency:
Optimize maintenance cost through effective utilization of resources.
Implement energy-saving initiatives and process improvements.
Safety, Compliance & Audits:
Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Participate in internal/external audits and ensure compliance with ISO, TPM, 5S, or other industry standards.
Promote safety culture across the maintenance department.
Project Support:
Support CAPEX planning and execution for new installations or upgrades.
Assist in commissioning of new machinery and facilities.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of foundry machinery (induction furnaces, sand reclamation systems, molding lines, etc.)
Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC systems, and electrical circuits.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and team leadership.
Familiar with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
7-8 years in industrial maintenance with at least 3-4 years in a supervisory role within a foundry setup.
