The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and maintenance of electrical utility systems supporting manufacturing operations. This role requires strong technical expertise in system design, project execution, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable and uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design & Engineering
Design and engineer electrical systems and components such as switchgear, transformers, cables, UPS, DG sets, and other utility equipment.
Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards (IS, IEC, etc.).
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Mechanical Utility teams to assess project requirements.
Develop optimized power distribution systems based on process needs.
3. Electrical Layout Development
Prepare and review electrical layouts and schedules including:
+ Earthing layouts
+ Lighting layouts
+ Cable routing/sizing layouts and schedules Coordinate with consultants for design validation and approvals.
4. Vendor & Consultant Coordination
Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and consultants for procurement, technical evaluation, and timely project completion.
Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and project deliverables.
5. Installation, Testing & Commissioning
Oversee on-site installation, testing, and commissioning activities of electrical systems.
Provide technical guidance to contractors and technicians to ensure compliance and safety.
6. Troubleshooting & RCA
Diagnose electrical failures in equipment and utility systems.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
7. Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to company policies, electrical safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Promote a safe working environment and compliance with EHS standards.
8. Reporting & Documentation
Develop MIS reports, project progress updates, and technical documentation.
Track project execution milestones and ensure on-time completion.
Experience Requirements
5-7 years of experience in electrical engineering with focus on designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems.
Experience in manufacturing or industrial project environments is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (IS, IEC, etc.).
Hands-on experience with switchgear, transformers, cable sizing, VFDs, and preparation of electrical layouts/schedules.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interaction.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within timelines.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
