Yara Fertilizers India Pvt Ltd is a 100% subsidiary of Yara International ASA. Yara has supplied fertilizers as well as fertilizer raw materials to the Indian market for over two decades. Yara India has continuously strengthened its footprint in Western and Southern India by providing Crop nutrition solutions with combination of Premium products and Knowledge through unique Farmer centric approach.


Yara's philosophy is to connect with thousands of farmers at the grass root level and has a strong commitment to serving the agriculture sector in India, thereby improving the livelihood of Indian farmer. To leverage on this and to expand into the northern & eastern geographies of India, Yara acquired Tata Chemicals' 1.2 MN MT Urea plant in UP, Northern India. With this acquisition Yara India's scale of operation has grown significantly.

Responsibilities

Electrical Operations & Maintenance

Manage operation and maintenance of HT (11kV) and LT electrical distribution systems including transformers, motors, MCCs, and distribution panels. Ensure timely inspections, preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability. Maintain uninterrupted power supply to all critical plant units (ammonia, urea, bagging, offsite facilities). Oversee electrical equipment associated with gas turbines, generators, excitation, and protection systems. Troubleshoot breakdowns and lead corrective actions during failures or unplanned outages. Conduct RCA and implement corrective/preventive actions; drive reliability improvement programs (RCA, FMEA). Ensure availability of critical spares and optimize maintenance costs through effective planning and vendor management.

Project Engineering & Shutdown Management

Evaluate, plan, and execute electrical CAPEX projects related to plant reliability, modernization, and energy efficiency. Prepare technical specifications, scope of work, feasibility reports, and cost estimates for projects. Perform engineering review, vendor evaluation, and coordinate execution with EPC contractors. Coordinate with OEMs and specialized agencies for calibrations, major overhauls, and system upgrades. Lead electrical activities during major/annual shutdowns ensuring timely and safe execution.

Safety, Compliance & Standards

Ensure full compliance with statutory electrical safety requirements and hazardous area regulations (ATEX/IECEx). Conduct electrical safety audits, investigations, HIRA/HAZOP studies, and risk assessments as required. Ensure adherence to Yara safety standards, HOPS, TOPS, and all internal electrical policies. Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture among supervisors, technicians, and contract workforce.

People Leadership & Collaboration

Lead, mentor, and develop electrical supervisors and technicians to enhance team capability. Conduct regular training on electrical safety, equipment operation, and troubleshooting. Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the department. Drive strong values, work ethics, and disciplined working practices aligned with Yara's core values--Collaboration, Ambition, Curiosity & Accountability. Ensure effective communication across the electrical team and with cross-functional departments.

Preferred Skills

--------------------


Strong proficiency in HT/LT systems, switchgears, transformers, and protection systems. Expertise in electrical systems associated with gas turbines and utility power distribution. Proficient in SAP or similar maintenance planning software. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities. Fluency in English & Hindi.

Education & Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized and reputable college/university. Consistent academic performance with a minimum of 60% marks in 10th, 12th, and B.Tech.

Experience

The candidate should have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Experience in the fertilizer industry will be an added advantage. Preference will be given to candidates holding a valid Electrical Supervisory License.
