Ensure compliance of Customs Clearance processes, compliance to CHA regulations, Customs Act & any other allied act or law directly or indirectly connected to the CBC activity across regions
Review the Customs Clearance processes & recommend changes / amendments in line with the changing laws / regulations to keep the team updated & improve efficiency of the teams across regions
Conduct or arrange trainings on Customs processes, changing laws/regulations from time to time
To analyze the operational information/data on common accounts across regions & suggest best practices in order to have unified & efficient handling of the said accounts across all regions
Suggest & introduce innovative ways of improving operations at back office or at the field
To have regular interactions with the regional CBC heads to record issues along with their resolutions & share the same with the rest of the CBC heads
Provide assistance in resolution of regional Customs issues that are escalated to corporate
Keep the teams updated on the new policies, laws being announced on a daily basis
Play the lead role from CBC side with GSC including setup-management of CBC application. Technical resolutions, efficient ways of working, analysis of performance of GSC, coordinator between GSC & Regions
Handle & co-ordinate with regions (with help of legal) on show cause notices, summons etc from Customs or any other agency
Trainings as required to team
Coordinate with external consultants & ensure their proper setup across including optimum utilization
Any other work related to compliance, adopting of best practices, GSC, external consultants & training, notwithstanding any additional responsibilities in relations to CBC work as given by Director CIL

Experience
8-10 years experience in a similar capacity/ discipline in freight forwarding or other related industries (preferable).
Educational Qualifications
* Minimum bachelor degree in any discipline (Masters degree holders preferred)
