Credit decision making and business partnering



Perform independent credit assessment on limit requests and or exceptional transactions and make credit advice / approval on the request either verbally or in writing. Act as business partner to the commercial team in addressing customers credit needs and financing solutions. Provide guidance to the commercial team on complex transactions, including but not limited to negotiating and structuring of credit terms to enable the transaction within acceptable risk framework. Perform customer visit - particularly strategic accounts - to better understanding the market and assess risks appropriately. Manage overall risk mitigations approach for designated portfolios and propose solutions to support growth.

Policy Compliance & Governance



Ensure adherence to the company's global credit policy framework. Identify high risk exposures and escalate potential default risks or breaches promptly to senior management at country and regional level. Track and ensure 90%+ completion of e-module training for traders and commercial teams for CRIS application. Regularly review over dues, over limits, and top MTM exposures on a weekly basis, ensuring updates before final exposure consolidation.

Credit System Management



Updating approvals & credit records / ratings / financials in CRIS. Changing status of counterparties in CRIS from Active to No trade / CBT. Modifying Grades / Limits of counterparts in CRIS.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting



Collaborating with trading teams and visiting counterparties to gather business insights, improving credit decision quality. Collaborate with trading / platforms to enable business within risk guidelines. Organize regular meetings with platforms / other functions to update status on receivables & deliveries. Spearhead risk training for new commercial team members. Deliver policy training and ensure team-wide compliance with global credit policies. Co-ordinate with Internal auditors on audit findings and implementation of the same.

Others



Assist in Credit process development . Represent the risk team in cross-functional initiatives and risk committees.


Qualifications



Minimum 6-8 years working experience of credit risk assessment and credit approval role. Preferably has working experience in international trading company or banking. Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or other business discipline or CFA.


Additional Information



Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. Deep understanding of credit risk principles and commodities trading and various market nuances for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Proficiency in risk tools, ERP systems (SAP), and Excel. Ethical judgment, integrity, and ability to work under pressure.
