Position Summary
The Deputy Manager - Accounts is responsible for overseeing statutory compliance, including GST and TDS filing, ensuring accurate accounting records, supporting audits, and contributing to overall financial management. The role requires strong knowledge of taxation, accounting standards, and compliance procedures relevant to NBFCs, Societies, or similar financial entities.
Key Responsibilities1. GST Compliance
Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).
Reconcile GST input credit, vendor statements, and ledgers.
Handle GST registrations, amendments, and notices.
Maintain documentation related to GST compliance and assessments.
2. TDS Compliance
Ensure timely deduction and deposit of TDS as per statutory requirements.
Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.).
Manage TDS reconciliations with books of accounts and Form 26AS.
Monitor TDS obligations, exemptions, and compliance updates.
3. Accounts & Financial Reporting
Manage day-to-day accounting activities including journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and reconciliation.
Prepare monthly MIS reports, financial statements, and schedules.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
4. Audit & Compliance
Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors for periodic audits.
Provide required documentation, statements, and clarifications during audits.
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
Handle tax assessments and respond to notices from statutory authorities.
5. Other Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records for statutory registers, financial documents, and compliance papers.
Support senior management in financial planning and process improvements.
Perform any additional duties related to finance and accounts as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance.
Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally, ERP systems, etc.).
Excellent understanding of financial statements and ledgers.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
Ability to manage deadlines and handle multi-tasking effectively.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
CA Inter / CMA Inter qualified
candidates preferred.
Minimum
2-5 years of experience
in Accounts with GST & TDS handling.
Experience in
NBFC, Society sector, or reputed accounting firms
is highly desirable.
Candidates with strong compliance and reporting background will be given preference.
