Job Purpose


Encompassing literature survey.

Identifying techno - commercially attractive and non - infringing route for fluoro-specialty molecules identified for commercialization in time bound manner.

Develop & standardize industrially feasible processes and also meet long term cost targets. Identify & develop new products.

Prepare feasibility report, cost analysis report, monthly progress report and TDR

Demonstrate/validate the lab scale process up to commercial scale

PROJECT WORK: MANUFACTURE /COMMERCIALLIZATION OF ENQUIRY BASED PRODUCTS ( IN-HOUSE OR AT THIRD PARTY) o Doing literature search of the enquiries received from the clients & making their project proposals. o Preparing costing and timelines for the enquiries from the clients. o Planning of the project work as per the timeline required by clients. o Identifying vendors for RM's, raising PR's and ensuring the timely arrival of RM's. o Ensuring the quality of RM's, intermediates and final products as per specifications. o Ensuring the timely execution of the project work and timely dispatch of the final products to the clients. o Timely communication of project requirements to procurement team for material requirements, ADL team for analytical support and marketing team for dispatch of materials. o Prepare the SOP's and ensuring that all SOP's are followed while carrying out the project work. o Helping & guiding the group members in developing experimental skills & proper documentation as per GLP/ IMS. o Preparing the presentations and final project reports. o Taking the processes developed in the R & D to the commercial scale. o No. of enquiries completed o No. of projects completed o Value addition through innovation


PEOPLE IMPROVEMENT PLAN o Good project management o Improve soft skills of group members. o Work on the time management, communication skills and team work within a group. o Counseling and coaching of group members as and when required. o Training group members for implementation of SOP's and working with SAP module. - No. of projects completed in time.



EXTERNAL/INTERNAL COMMUNICATION o Proper communication (written /verbal /presentation) with clients and vendors. o Proper communication (written /verbal /presentation) across vertical & horizontal reporting lines. - No. of projects completed in time.



DOCUMENTATION/SOP'S o Preparation of SOP's for all the processes to be followed & equipments to be handled during the completion of the project work. o Ensure the proper documentation/filing of literature, patents, experimental data (laboratory journals), internal & external communication, project reports, SOP's and so on. o No. of SOP's generated & followed. o Degree of accomplishment in documentation and filing of records/ data.


NON-INFRINGING PROCESSES o Developing the non-infringing processes for the enquiry based products, if it is requirement of the client. o Developing non-infringing processes for new products based on building blocks available with GFL. - No. of new molecules or products developed.



SAFETY & HOUSEKEEPING o Ensuring that the laboratory and group members are well equipped with the safety & housekeeping equipments. o Ensuring that the GLP/ GMP/ IMS are fully observed by the group members while doing their project work. o Doing periodical safety & house-keeping rounds in the R & D and pilot plant o Doing HAZOP studies of the processes developed in the laboratory before taking for manufacturing. - No. of accident free days



LITERATURE /PATENT SEARCH o Doing complete literature /patent search required in the project work using Scifinder, Reaxys, ROW-2 and other software packages. o If required, visit universities or other organizations for literature / patent search. o Prepare the literature/patent search reports. o Educate subordinates for literature/patent search. o No. of records on literature papers & patents o No. of successful implementation of literature or patents processes in project work.


TROUBLE-SHOOTING - Contribute in trouble-shooting & fine tuning of in-house manufacturing processes, as and when required.
- No. of successful trouble-shooting



ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITY - Contributing in additional responsibility assigned by the supervisor in the area of material procurement (preparing specifications), material storage, materials disposal, general maintenance of laboratory & equipments.
- Minimum no. of breakdowns in the project work
