Job Description

Purpose of the role The Manager of Own-Fleet Operations is responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of the company's own-fleet vehicles used for transportation and distribution of beverages products. This role involves strategic planning, fleet management, route optimization, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.

Key Deliverables



Fleet Management:



Manage the company's own-fleet vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other transportation assets. Oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, and servicing to ensure fleet reliability and safety.

Route Planning and Optimization:



Develop and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, minimize transportation costs, and meet customer service objectives. Utilize route planning software and optimization tools to streamline delivery operations.

Driver Management:



Supervise and support a team of drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and performance standards. Provide training, coaching, and feedback to drivers to promote safe driving practices and customer satisfaction.

Vehicle Tracking and Monitoring:



Implement vehicle tracking systems and telematics technology to monitor fleet performance, track vehicle locations, and analyze driver behavior. Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for improvement and operational efficiencies.

Compliance and Safety:



Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, licensing requirements, and industry standards. Implement safety policies and procedures to minimize accidents, injuries, and property damage.

Cost Control and Budgeting

:


Manage transportation costs, fuel expenses, and maintenance budgets to achieve cost targets and financial objectives. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize fleet operations.

Supplier Management:



Collaborate with external suppliers, logistics partners, and third-party service providers to support transportation and distribution activities. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Continuous Improvement:



Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Implement best practices, process improvements, and technology solutions to streamline operations and drive business results.

Role Requirements



Qualification: -

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.



Experience:



10-15 Years of experience in fleet operations, transportation logistics, or a related field. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, fleet maintenance practices, and route optimization techniques. Familiarity with fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and telematics technology. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
