Job Description


Purpose of the Role
This role exists to define Diagnostic, EMI-EMC and EE Hardware requirements in line with defined Technical Policy and Technology Roadmap for ECUs, EE aggregates, current and planned future vehicles.
Lead the development, delivery and deployment of ECU specific on-board diagnostics, EOL and Off board requirements for all new ECU developments in power-train, chassis, body and infotainment and connected car domains and define test standards & validation Strategies.
Job Responsibility
Innovation and Technology management
Keep abreast with Technology trends and relevant technology providers Map feasibility of application of new technologies over a xe2x80x98time horizon and propose a technology roadmap for Off Board Diagnostics Develop Diagnostic strategy as per planned roadmap
Develop Capability
Create short and medium term engineering capability plans to achieve functional objectives Formulate Diagnostic strategy for ECUs, EOL/Service Formulate guidelines and best practices for validation based on latest technologies and learnings from past projects. Develop standards for EMI/EMC and Hardware (e.g. Grade Review, Interface simulation)
Product Development
Ensure compliance of diagnostic requirements of all ECUs Tracking of Tool development, testing & validation of Full Vehicle and sub-systems Review progress of Diagnostic development, validation, EOL/Service Tool development and resolve critical issues Implement best practices to find and solve problems in the process. Support in resolution of issues reported from Proto, Manufacturing line and field. EMI/EMC review, Development test, Homologation test People Management Cascade of BSC targets to individual KRAs. Monitor performance and provide individual feedback to direct and wherever necessary indirect reports. Capture the current and future skills and competency requirements for all the roles. Monitor and take measures to bridge gaps in skills and competencies for the team. Ensure Communication cascade within the team.
Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education Engineering Graduate in Electrical and Electronics Relevant Experience : 10+ years of experience in domain of vehicle electronics system development
  • In depth knowledge of Legislative and Regulatory Requirements like OBD I, OBD II, EOBD, etc.
  • Knowledge of ECU xe2x80x98V cycle development from concept to production from an OEM perspective
  • Usage of communication tools (CANoe, CANalyzer etc) and diagnostic tools (ODX Autoring tools, Diagnostic test case generators and Vehicle diagnostic tools) from Vector, In2soft and SoftingKnowledge of ODX Process, Method, and Tools Knowledge regulatory / certification requirements like CMVR, AIS, ECE etc.
  • Experience in OTX and Calibration tools like INCA, CANapeKnowledge of automotive EMI/EMC standardsKnowledge of ECU hardware architectureKnowledge of simulation Tools (e.g. P-Spice, LT Spice etc)
  • Experience of at least 2 full product development cyclesExperience of team management
