Position Summary:
As Lead of Deployment Services, you will report into the Desktop Deployments Lead, and you will be leading a team of Deployment Managers, whom are responsible for managing and coordinating all software and policy-based deployments to the 400,000 desktops across the global environment. You will also provide guidance to project teams in terms of deployment methodologies, assessing risks, and meeting project deadlines. Specifically, in this role you will:
- Prepare deployment schedules
- Prepare deployment test communications
- Identify testers and target audience criteria
- Prepare and submit Change Requests in ServiceNow, and work with Change Reviewers/Approvers if/when applicable
- Work closely with Product Managers, Service Owners, and other deployment-specific stakeholders
- Submit targeting requests with appropriate target criteria defined
- Run reports (e.g. MECM deployment status reports) to monitor success and progress of each deployment
- Monitor deployment test feedback through surveys
- Identify failures and work with the appropriate team(s) (e.g. Packaging team, Product Manager, Service Desk) to address and remediate
- Share status reports with appropriate stakeholders (Requesters, Product Managers, etc.)
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Communicate fluently orally and in writing
- Plan, schedule, and monitor deployment activities in order to meet security SLAs, project timelines and quality targets
- Rapidly absorb new technical information and business knowledge based on the project assignment, and apply it effectively
- Maintain knowledge of the wider field of information systems, its use in relevant deployment areas, and how it relates to business activities
- Interface and communicate with project teams, management and stakeholders
- Provide timely and accurate status updates to management
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Deliver desktop applications focusing on project deliverables while meeting business needs
- Meet customer and business needs while ensuring quality results
- Select appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools and applications and use accordingly
- Utilize an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving if issues are encountered
- Advise on the best technical solutions to minimize deployment risk and increase efficiency
- Maintain knowledge on desktop deployment standards
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
- Leading small teams in project delivery based on established deployment processes
- Good knowledge of Operations, Infrastructure Engineering and functional organizations
- High attention to detail
- Strong project management skills, including managing task lists, schedules, a nd global teams
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Intune, and Nexthink preferred
- Basic knowledge of ServiceNow, preferred
Supervision Responsibilities:
- Should have good people management skills with ability to lead and motivate the team
- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff
- Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures
- Coach and support other Deployment Managers and project resources as needed
