Job Description

Overview:

Responsible for automating and managing deployment activities across Linux/Ubuntu environments using Ansible and other DevOps tools. The role involves supporting application deployments, hardening operating systems, and optimizing infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and security. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver efficient deployment processes in both on-premise and cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
Automate installation and configuration of applications using Ansible. Perform Linux/Ubuntu system administration and implement OS hardening. Support infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment automation. Document the overall deployment process and create reusable runbooks. Collaborate with architects and SMEs to ensure best practices in security and networking. Troubleshoot deployment issues and propose improvements to the deployment framework. Contribute to continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related discipline. Relevant certifications (Linux, Red Hat, Ansible, or equivalent) preferred.

Essential skills:
Strong knowledge of Linux/Ubuntu administration and Ansible scripting. Good understanding of IT/OT networking concepts. Ability to design and implement automation solutions. Excellent documentation and knowledge-sharing skills. Strong communication, teamwork, and client-facing ability.

Desired skills:
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, or similar). Knowledge of container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with cybersecurity practices in deployment environments.

Experience:
6-9 years of demonstrable experience in using

Ansible

for automating installation, configuration, and basic administration tasks. Strong experience with

Linux (Ubuntu)

, including system administration and OS hardening. Hands-on experience in

automation of deployments

and creating reusable deployment scripts. Exposure to

IT/OT networking

and understanding of infrastructure integration in on-premise environments. Experience in documenting deployment processes and guiding engineers in application setup.
