The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) promotes and protects Australia\xe2\x80\x99s international interests to support our security and prosperity. We work with international partners and other countries to tackle global challenges, increase trade and investment opportunities, protect international rules, keep our region stable and help Australians overseas.

The Australian Government\xe2\x80\x99s overseas development program advances Australia\xe2\x80\x99s national interest by assisting developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve economic development. While Australia does not have a bilateral development cooperation program with India, we support India\xe2\x80\x99s development priorities through our global and regional aid investments and technical assistance activities. The Australian High Commission, New Delhi, is also accredited for Bhutan, including responsibilities for Australia\xe2\x80\x99s development cooperation with Bhutan (worth approximately AUD 4.4 million per year). About the Position

The Senior Program Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Development (SPM-D) will manage Australia\xe2\x80\x99s successful portfolio of development programs in India and Bhutan, in line with Australian Government policies and priorities. The SPM-D will work under the direction of the First Secretary, Economic (Development) to manage various development programs.

The SPM-D will be required to regularly travel to Bhutan, and from time to time within the South Asia region and to Australia.
